You both visit tourist attractions in the country and participate in rock climbing, wildlife safaris, whale-watching tours, and train rides. Starting in Negombo, you will travel to central Sri Lanka and the beaches of the southern province.

Day 1 – Airport to Negombo
To start the Sri Lanka Honeymoon Itinerary, Rahmaholidays representative will warmly welcome you at the Katunayake Airport. The representative will also serve as your chauffeur throughout the tour. On the first day, we will take you to the Negombo area, which is a nearby city near the airport. You and your loving partner will stay the first day in a beautiful hotel near the ocean.
Negombo is a major city in the western province of Sri Lanka. It is famous as a fishing village where you can see a multi-cultural society in the surrounding area. Negombo is also famous for its beautiful beaches. You can enjoy your first day with rest and the cool sea breeze.
Day 2 – Negombo to Sigiriya
After your breakfast in the Negombo hotel, we will travel to Sigiriya by leaving Negombo. You will reach Dambulla after a few hours, where you will visit your first major tourist attraction in Sri Lanka, the Dambulla Cave Temple.
It consists of both a modern and an ancient temple. The contemporary temple is called Dambulla Golden Temple, where you can see modern architecture. The ancient temple is known as Dambulla Cave Temple, located a short distance from the contemporary temple. It is considered the most revered cave temple complex in Sri Lanka. The cave temple has a history of over 2,000 years and is where that evidence can be found. There are five major caves, and those are colorful with beautiful paintings and almost 150 Buddha statues.
After the temple visit, we will take you to another beautiful hotel in Sigiriya for rest and dinner.
Day 3 – Sigiriya to Polonnaruwa
According to our honeymoon itinerary in Sri Lanka, you will travel from Sigiriya to Polonnaruwa on this day. It will take 2-3 hours. You can see many ancient monasteries, ruins, buildings, and strata in Polonnaruwa. It was the second kingdom in Sri Lankan history, active from the 11th century to the 13th century AD. King Parakramabahu I and King Vijayabahu were considered the two greatest kings in the kingdom. The area is abundant with lakes and tanks. The technology behind those tanks is wonderful for anyone to know.
After exploring Polonnaruwa Ancient City, we will take you to enjoy a taste of a traditional Sri Lankan lunch. We are sure that you will enjoy it with your partner. Next, you and your partner will participate in a wildlife safari at Minneriya National Park. This is the wildlife sanctuary with the largest elephant gathering in Asia. During the dry season, 150–300 wild elephants congregate near the Minneriya Tank. Anyhow, the sanctuary is filled with many other wild animals to watch.
After an enjoyable safari, we will return to the Sigiriya hotel for dinner, rest, and to wrap up the day.
Day 4 – Sigiriya to Kandy
According to your honeymoon itinerary, we will climb the famous Sigiriya Rock Fortress on this day. It is one of the most visited and famous tourist attractions in Sri Lanka. The rock is actually a wonderful place where you can observe an ancient palace, architecture, a mirror wall, paintings, and a beautiful garden. Historians believe that the place was built by King Kashyapa in the 5th century AD. Because of its protection, he chose this location as his palace. The ruins of that palace can still be seen today on top of Sigiriya Rock.
You will need around one hour to climb the rock. In any case, the view from the top is spectacular. After rock climbing, we will leave Sigiriya and start traveling to Kandy. Along the way, you will visit a beautiful garden called the Matale Spice Garden. It is a place where you can observe the spices that grow on Sri Lankan soil. You can purchase them if you are interested in them further.
The day will end when you both arrive at your Kandy hotel.
Day 5 – Visit around Kandy City
On this day, you will travel to some of the most significant places around Kandy City. After breakfast at the hotel, you will go to the Temple of the Tooth Relic. The Toth Relic Temple is an important place for Buddhists all over the world. The Left Canine of the Lord Buddha has been established here for a few centuries. After worshiping the temple, you will come to see the beauty of Kandy Lake. Then we will next visit Kandy View Point according to your preferences. It is a nice place where you can observe the top view of the city.
Peradeniya Botanical Garden is the location of your nest. It is the place where you can watch many different kinds of plant species. There are around 4000 plant species, including a beautiful flower collection. The garden is a superb spot to escape the urban environment and get rested. Then in the evening, we will participate in a special event called the Kandy Dancing Show. There, you can see Sri Lankan traditional dances, which are organized by the Kandy Lake Club.
After visiting many places, you will return to the Kandy Hotel to end your fifth day of our Sri Lankan honeymoon tour.
Day 6 – Kandy to Ella through Nuwara Eliya
On the 6th day of your Sri Lanka honeymoon tour, we will travel from Kandy to Ella through Nuwara Eliya. It is a beautiful route with many green tea gardens. We will stop for a few minutes near a waterfall along the way. The hilly route will generate some magical views. You will also be lucky to visit a tea factory and its tea estates. On the farm, you and your partner will participate in tea-picking activities alongside local laborers. In the tea factory, you can learn how the famous Ceylon tea is processed.
Nuwara Eliya is one of the major cities in Central Province, with an elevation of 1881 m. Its cool and pleasant weather will make you more relaxed. The city is also called “Little England in Sri Lanka.” Nuwara Eliya is most beautiful between March and May. We will visit a few major attractions in Nuwara Eliya according to our remaining time. We will next drive to Nanu Oya railway station, where you will travel to Ella by train. It is another nice thing to do in Sri Lanka that every tourist must try out. If you are not on a train schedule, we will travel directly to Ella City with the ongoing vehicle.
After you’ve completed the scenic train ride, we’ll meet you at the Ella train station. Then we will next visit our hotel for dinner and an overnight stay.
Day 7 – Ella to Tissamaharama
After breakfast at the hotel, you will hike to Ella Little Adams’ Peak. It is a nice activity in the early morning. After one hour of hiking, you can reach the viewpoint of that mountain. The morning view towards southern Sri Lanka is absolutely fantastic. After the hike, your next location is Nine Arch Bridge. It is an old bridge constructed by the British in the early twentieth century. The specialty behind that bridge is that it is made with zero metals. You can walk along the train road, which is a great place for photography.
Next, we will travel to Tissamaharama from Ella. Ravana Ella is a beautiful waterfall that you will meet along the route. We will stay a few minutes near the waterfall, and you can visit the area according to your wishes. There is a tale behind that waterfall, and it connects with the epic tale of Ramayanaya. After a few hours of driving, we will come to your hotel in Tissamaharama. After that, we’ll pack a picnic lunch and go on a safari to Yala National Park. It is the second-largest national park in Sri Lanka, with abundant wildlife. Yala is considered the best place to watch leopards in Sri Lanka.
We will return to the hotel after your stunning wildlife safari.
Day 8 – Tissamaharama to Mirissa Beach
After a delicious breakfast on the morning of this day, you and your loving partner travel to Mirissa from Tissamaharama. Now that you are approaching Sri Lanka’s southern beaches, Mirissa is another popular tourist attraction with many things to do. You will visit Missa Beach and the famous Coconut Tree Hill on this day. Mirissa Beach is an excellent location for surfing and other water sports. Later, you will check into your hotel for dinner and an overnight stay.
Day 09 – Mirissa
According to our Sri Lanka honeymoon tour itinerary, you will also spend your ninth day in beautiful Mirissa. We will arrange a whale-watching tour according to your request. The whale-watching tour starts early in the morning, and you can watch whales and dolphins during this tour. Thereafter, you will once again come to your hotel. You can visit the hotel’s private beach and enjoy the rest of the day with beach activities. It’s a laid-back day.
Day 10 – Enjoy the Beach and Pool
You are much more relaxed on the tenth day of your honeymoon tour. There is no set schedule for today. You can enjoy the whole day with your partner at the beach or in the pool. If you’re leaving on the morning of the last day, we can go to Galle City to watch the old fort according to your wishes. Between the 16th and 18th centuries, the fort was built by both the Portuguese and the Dutch.
If your departure time is in the evening on the last day, then we can plan the Galle tour for the next morning. You will come to your same Mirissa hotel for an overnight stay and finish the day.
Day 11 – Mirissa to Airport
Based on your flight schedule, we will check out of the hotel and travel to Katunayaka Airport. Within 2 to 3 hours of your departure time, our courteous chauffeur will safely drop you off. Finally, this will conclude our Sri Lanka honeymoon itinerary.
