Day 01 – Airport to Pinnawala and Kandy
Based on the time of your arrival, we will drive you to the Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage. If not we will discuss with you of other available options and plans for the immediate future.
The Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage provides visitors with the best chance of seeing a large number of elephants at close quarters. The orphanage was established in 1975 and had only seven orphaned elephants when it first began its operations.
Assisted by locals and foreigners who were experts on the growth and behavior patterns of elephants, the Pinnawala orphanage commenced a successful captive breeding programme and the first baby elephant was born in 1984. The best and the most interesting to visit is at feeding time to see the baby elephants being bottle fed and the entire herd taken for a bath thereafter to the river nearby.
Day 01 – Kandy to Nuwara Eliya
After a sumptuous breakfast at the hotel, we will visit the Temple of the tooth and the Botanical Gardens in Peradeniya and thereafter drive to Nuwara Eliya.
The Royal Botanical Gardens, Peradeniya attracts 2 million visitors annually. It is renowned for its collection of orchids. The garden includes more than 4000 species of plants, including orchids, spices, medicinal plants and palm trees. The total area of the botanical garden is 147 acres (0.59 km2).
Thereafter along the way to Nuwara Eliya, a visit to a tea plantation and a tea factory is planned. This is where the best tea in the world is produced. Upon your visit you will observe how the quality of tea is graded and also have a walk-through of the manufacturing process. The highlight of your visit will be enjoying the taste of a cup of pure Ceylon tea in the factory.
Day 03 – Nuwara Eliya to Bentota
You will be driven from Nuwara Eliya to Bentota.
Along the way and at your request, a whitewater rafting adventure can be arranged. If not, you will be driven to your hotel in Bentota.
At Bentota, you will have this day to spend at your leisure.
Day 04 – Bentota
After a good breakfast, we can visit the nearby water spots. A river boat safari on the beautiful Madu river and thereafter a visit to the Turtels Hatchery with a “massage” by fish in a local water spot is also arranged for your enjoyment.
The many hatcheries that are operated locally, provide a safe haven for these sea turtles. You may an option of visiting these hatcheries to have a look at many huge tanks filled with new born turtles who, once grown, are released to the sea.
Day 05 – Bentota to Negambo
On the 5th day, we will have a late departure from the hotel to Negombo, which is the closest city to the International Airport.
You will spend the night in Negombo.
Day 06 – Negombo to Airport
Based on the time of your flight departure, your friendly chauffer will safely drop you off at the Bandaranaike International Airport in time for your flight (at least 2-3 hours before your flight).
An Overview of Kandy
Kandy, by name Maha Nuwara (“Great City”), city in the Central Highlands of Sri Lanka, at an elevation of 1,640 feet (500 metres). Located in the Central Province of Sri Lanka Kandy is one of the major cities of Sri Lanka. The city lies in the midst of hills in the Kandy plateau, which crosses an area of tropical plantations, mainly tea. Kandy is recognized to be both an administrative and religious city and is also the capital of the Central Province. One of the most significant features of Kandy City, is that it is the home of the Temple of the Tooth Relic (Sri Dalada Maligawa), one of the most sacred places of worship in the Buddhist world. Within the heart of the city is the scenic Kandy Lake (Bogambara Lake), which is popular for strolling. Another significant event is the Esala Perahera, the annual 10-day torchlight parade of dancers and drummers, dignitaries, and ornately decorated elephants, commemorates the sacred tooth; it is now one of the better-known festivals in Asia, and it is understood to be the largest Buddhist celebration in the world. A visit in July/August to Sri Lanka can be highly recommended as this is the season when this event takes place. In addition to all these, Kandy City was also declared a world heritage site by UNESCO in 1988.
Being a World Heritage Site, Kandy, was the last capital of the Sri Lankan Kings, before the country was brought under British rule in 1815. Famous for its rich heritage and splendour, this magnificent city was last ruled by Sri Wickramarajasinghe.
The Temple of the Tooth Relic is the most significant highlight of the Sri Lanka tour package from Bangalore along with the beautiful Kandy Lake, the city itself along with many other attractions.

An overview of Nuwara Eliya
Nuwara Eliya is a city in the tea country hills of central Sri Lanka. The naturally landscaped Hakgala Botanical Gardens displays roses and tree ferns, and shelters monkeys and blue magpies. Amman Temple, located nearby is a colorful Hindu shrine, is decorated with religious figures. The Densely forested Galway’s Land National Park is a sanctuary for endemic and migratory bird species, including bulbuls and flycatchers.
Nuwara Eliya has earned a reputation for itself as a preferred destination in the hill country by tourists and locals alike because of its incredibly cool climate and amazing sceneries. Whilst delighting travellers with its awe-inspiring beauty, Nuwara Eliya is also home to one of the finest 18-hole golf courses in South Asia.
The city, also known as City of Lights and little England, is a resort city in the Central Mountain range of Sri Lanka. It is at an altitude of 1,868 m (6,128 ft) and is considered to be the most important location for tea production in Sri Lanka. The city is overlooked by Pidurutalagala, the tallest mountain in Sri Lanka. Nuwara Eliya is known for its temperate, cool climate — the coolest area in Sri Lanka.
This town plays a pivotal role in the worlds tea industry as the produce of this region alone is responsible for a substantial portion of tea exports.
An Overview of Bentota
Bentota is a coastal town in Sri Lanka, located in the Galle District of the Southern Province. It is approximately 65 kilometres (40 mi) south of Colombo and 56 kilometres (35 mi) north of Galle. Bentota is situated on the southern bank of the Bentota River mouth, at an elevation of 3 metres (9.8 ft) above the sea level. Southeast of Bentota is Lunuganga, the estate and gardens of architect Geoffrey Bawa. Northeast is his brother Bevis’s Brief Garden.
Bentota is also a tourist attraction, with a local airport (Bentota River Airport) and a handful of world-class hotels. It is a destination for watersports as well. Bentota is also popularly recognized in delivering an ancient art of healing called Ayurveda. Another interesting feature of Bentota is that it is also famous for its toddy production, an alcoholic beverage made out of coconut nectar. It also has a turtle hatchery, located on Induruwa beach.
Balapitiya is the nearest town to the Maduganga River which is famous for its mangroves and endemic flora and fauna. This little town is renowned for its Ceylon Cinnamon and fishing.
