Galle Fort
Galle Fort is a must-visit place for those who visit southern Sri Lanka. It is a symbol of Galle City that also inspires pride. It is one of the eight UNESCO World Heritage Sites in Sri Lanka. This amazing structure was built by both the Portuguese and Dutch during their ruling periods between the 16th and 18th centuries. Initially, this was a small building that was constructed by the Portuguese for their military purposes. Later, it was developed by the Dutch into a large-size construction. Both of these Europeans have used this fort for military purposes and as a prison. British developed its clock tower in 1883, which is considered one of the oldest clock towers in the country.
Galle Fort is a fabulous place to visit during your Galle Day Tour. Here you can walk a long distance around the entire fort. You can also find shops, restaurants, hotels, public administration buildings, and many other important ventures inside the fort. The sunset from the Galle Fort looks fantastic, and further, you can observe the beauty of the Indian Ocean from here. Another popular feature of this fort is the lighthouse.

Turtle Hatchery Farm was established to conserve and protect sea turtles from predators. Mother turtles lay eggs in nearby coastal areas, and those eggs are protected in the farm from predators. The baby turtles were finally released into the sea. This farm can teach you more about the life cycles of those turtles. It is open from 8.30 a.m. until 5.30 p.m. This is the place we will definitely take you during your Galle Day Tour.
